Piers Torday grew up in the countryside in Northumberland. He told the children of the P5 and Sek 1 english, that his mother had a small bookshop there and that Roald Dahl once came to visit. The famous english childrens book author wrote a letter to his mother afterwards – an oompa-lompa-song- which Piers Torday still has and showed us in his presentation. That letter also was the starting point of his writing career … Karolina Visemirskyte from P5 English wrote afterwards: “I really liked the presentation. I have now started to read “The last Wild”, the first book of three about the last animals in the wild. It is very interesting. I would recomend it to everyone. Even adults can read the book.”
