Author Jane Clarke inspired the children in the English pre-primary with her story of Gilbert, the friendly shark.
Afterwards she helped them to invent their own little story, “because there is not only one story in the world”. The children drew sharks, mermaids, octupusses, etc. and told their story: Once upon a time I sat in a submarine and saw a shark and an octupus and a crocodile and two mermaids, who were friends … There are great illustrators and authors in our Kindergarten, too!

Thank you for inviting me Stephanie, I very much enjoyed the stories the children made up. Best wishes to all the young authors and illustrators in pre-primary. Jane
